May 4, 2024 General Election

The City of Hedwig Village will hold its General Election on May 4, 2024 at City Hall, located at 955 Piney Point Road,

to elect Council Position #2, Council Position #3 and Council Position #4.  Early voting and Election Day voting will be conducted at City Hall.

The first day to file for a place on the ballot will be January 17, 2024 and the last day to file for a place on the ballot will be February 16, 2024. 

The last day to file as a write-in candidate will be February 20, 2024.

Filing location will be City Hall, located at 955 Piney Point Road.

Early voting will be held at Hedwig Village City Hall, located at

955 Piney Point Road, on the following dates:

April 22, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

April 23, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

April 24, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

April 25, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

April 26, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

April 29, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

April 30, 2024 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

May 3, 2025 General Election

The City of Hedwig Village will hold its General Election on May 3, 2025 at City Hall, located at 955 Piney Point Road,

to elect a Mayor and Council Position #1, and Council Position #5.  Early voting and Election Day voting will be conducted at City Hall.

The first day to file for a place on the ballot will be January 15, 2025 and the last day to file for a place on the ballot will be February 14, 2025. 

The last day to file as a write-in candidate will be February 18, 2025.

Filing location will be City Hall, located at 955 Piney Point Road.

General Election Information/Información Electoral General - City of Hedwig Village, Texas

The City of Hedwig Village holds its election for the Mayor and City Council on the first Saturday in May of each year. The election for Council Positions 2, 3, and 4 are held in even numbered years, while the election for Mayor and Council Positions 1 and 5 are held in odd numbered years.  

Qualifications for Mayor and City Council Members

In General Law Municipalities, the qualifications for the Office of Mayor and City Council Members are:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Have been a resident of Texas continuously for at least 12 months, as of the deadline for filing for the office
  • Have resided in the City continuously for at least 6 months preceding election day
  • Have a current voter registration certificate and eligible to vote in City elections
  • Be 18 years of age or older upon the commencement of the term to be filled at the election
  • Not have been convicted of a felony for which he or she has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities
  • Not have been deemed mentally incompetent by a final judgement of a court

Photo ID Required


It's the law in Texas.

Voters must present an approved photo ID to vote in person.

Acceptable form of photo ID:

  1. Texas driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  2. Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  3. Texas handgun license issued by DPS
  4. U.S. military identification card containing your photograph
  5. U.S. citizenship certificate containing your photograph
  6. U.S. passport (book or card)
  7. Election Identification Certificate (EIC) issued by DPS

With the exception of the U.S. citizenship certificate, the photo ID must be current or expired no more than 4 years.

A person 70 years of age or older may use a form of identification listed above that has expired but is otherwise valid.
