Effective September 1, 2002, State mandated Energy Code Certification will be required on all new construction. Energy Code compliance by any of
the following will be acceptable:
- Approval by a registered professional engineer or architect certifying that the plans meet the requirements of the 2003 Edition of the International Energy
Code or the energy requirements of the 2000 Edition of the International Residential Code.
- Approval by a professional energy agency such as Energy Star, Watt Savers, Energy Sense or other approved agencies.
- Plans should be submitted with worksheets from acceptable software such as Mecheck, Remrate, Rem Design, Hers Bestest or other approved methods.
Plans submitted without one of the above will be rejected as incomplete.
